<p>Brokers, as intermediaries in economic transactions, play a crucial role in facilitating meetings between sellers and buyers. This study presents a literature review of the role of brokers in various economic contexts. First, we explore the concept and definition of brokers and the evolution of their role over time. Next, we discuss the key functions of brokers, including seller-buyer matching, negotiation, information gathering, document management, risk management, and after-sales service provision. The literature analysis also highlights the role of information technology and online platforms in transforming the economic intermediation landscape, with the emergence of electronic platforms that directly connect sellers and buyers. In addition, we explore factors that influence brokers' success in economic transactions, including trust, reputation, and service quality. This study also identifies several challenges faced by brokers, including increased competition, regulatory changes, and technological risks. Finally, we summarize the implications of this study for practitioners and policymakers, highlighting the importance of innovation, sustainability, and adaptation to changing business environments. Thus, this study provides a better understanding of the role of brokers in economic transactions and the challenges and opportunities they face in the context of an evolving global economy.</p>Bayu Sukma

<p>Islam mengajarkan konsep persaudaraan universal yang menekankan kesetaraan, keadilan ekonomi, dan saling membantu antar manusia. Dalam kehidupan modern, manusia menghadapi berbagai risiko seperti kecelakaan, bencana, penyakit, dan ancaman ekonomi yang memerlukan perlindungan. Asuransi syariah menjadi solusi berbasis prinsip Islam untuk mengantisipasi risiko tersebut. Namun, industri asuransi menghadapi masalah polis lapse akibat ketidakmampuan membayar premi. Memahami faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi minat nasabah menjadi penting untuk meminimalkan risiko lapse. Penelitian ini menganalisis minat nasabah asuransi syariah di Bank Muamalat Cabang Cirebon dengan mengidentifikasi faktor dominan yang mempengaruhi keputusan pembelian, yaitu strategi pemasaran, ajaran Islam, dan kebutuhan nasabah. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan Ordinary Least Square (OLS). Minat nasabah sebagai variabel dependen dianalisis terhadap tiga variabel independen: strategi pemasaran, ajaran Islam, dan kebutuhan asuransi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa strategi pemasaran, ajaran Islam, dan kebutuhan asuransi secara parsial berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap minat menjadi nasabah asuransi syariah. Variabel kebutuhan asuransi terbukti sebagai faktor dominan yang paling mempengaruhi minat nasabah. Kebutuhan asuransi merupakan faktor utama yang mendorong minat nasabah terhadap asuransi syariah di Bank Muamalat Cabang Cirebon, diikuti oleh strategi pemasaran dan ajaran Islam.</p>Yadi HendrawanShobihah Maemun ZubairAhmad Zaeni DahlanUlfain UlfainMuhammad Arwani

<p>The Islamic financial system is an integral part of the Islamic economic system that regulates financial activities based on the principles of justice, transparency, and social responsibility, while prohibiting usury (interest), gharar (uncertainty), and maisir (speculation). This article aims to examine the implementation of the Islamic financial system in Islamic banking institutions, focusing on its legal foundations, core principles, and economic impacts. The research method employed is library research by reviewing relevant literature, including textbooks, academic journals, statutory regulations, and fatwas issued by the National Sharia Council of the Indonesian Ulema Council. The findings indicate that Islamic banking implements the Islamic financial system through sharia-compliant contracts such as mudharabah, musyarakah, murabahah, and ijarah. This system promotes fair partnership relationships between banks and customers, enhances transparency, strengthens financial stability, and contributes to greater financial inclusion and social welfare. <p>Social capital is often seen as an important factor in economic development, but its definition, measurement, and transmission mechanism are still debated in the literature. This study aims to highlight the importance of contextualizing social capital in economic analysis by emphasizing conceptual and methodological challenges in cross-border studies. Keefer and Knack's (1997) framework of thought was used with limited modifications, and was enriched by the mechanism-based approach of Fukuyama and Torsvik. Empirically, this study uses cross-sectional data from 2018 from twelve member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The level of trust is used as a proxy for social capital, with education as a control variable. The results of the estimation show that the relationship between social capital and aggregate economic performance is not statistically significant and tends to be in the opposite direction to the theoretical predictions. These findings are interpreted as an illustration of the limitations of aggregate measurement and the ambiguity of mechanisms when social and institutional contexts are ignored. This study confirms that the identification of context and mechanisms is an important prerequisite in social capital analysis.</p>Difa Ameliora Pujayanti

<p>Islamic banking has become a vital part of global finance, particularly in Indonesia, where the majority of the population is Muslim. The presence of Islamic banking in Indonesia, both for the public and the industrial sector, has a significant impact. This is due to the public's need for banking services, whether to strengthen capital or store funds, which have become an essential part of everyday life. This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic banks in economic growth in Indonesia. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a library study approach. The results of this study indicate that Islamic banking makes a significant contribution to supporting economic growth in Indonesia, particularly through financing based on Islamic principles that focus on empowering MSMEs. Through the distribution of financing to the community (MSMEs) that is productive, it will have a significant impact on economic growth.</p>Aep Syaeful Millah

<p>Halal Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have a very strategic role in supporting the national economic structure and strengthening the competitiveness of Indonesia's halal industry in the global market. With a total of more than 65 million business units that contribute around 61% to the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and absorb 97% of the workforce, MSMEs are the main pillars in people-based economic development. However, the sector still faces various obstacles, especially in terms of limited access to fair, inclusive, and Islamic economic financing in accordance with Islamic economic principles. The low level of Islamic financial literacy, limited capital, and weak digitalization support are the main factors that slow down the acceleration of the growth of halal MSMEs.</p> <p>Sharia Microfinance Institutions (MFIs), such as Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT) and sharia cooperatives, have a strategic position in bridging these needs. LKMS not only functions as a financial intermediation institution, but also as an agent of socio-economic empowerment of the ummah through the application of sharia contracts such as murabahah, mudharabah, musyarakah, and qardhul hasan. This research uses a qualitative-descriptive method with literature studies and secondary data analysis from OJK, KNEKS, and Bank Indonesia for the 2020-2024 period. The results of the study show that MFIs have a real contribution in expanding access to sharia financing, especially in the micro and informal sectors. However, the challenges faced include limited capital, lack of integration of the halal certification system with financing, and lack of use of digital technology. Therefore, synergy is needed between the government, financial authorities, MFIs, and MSME actors to strengthen an inclusive and sustainable halal financing ecosystem.
